Welcome to another entry from Yours Truly...
I did a lot of stuff since Friday including watching 'The Transporter' with Jason Statham and Shu Qi.
The movie just totally blew me away and I confess I laughed at a few of the more violent scenes when I shouldn't have but overall, I just loved it especially the fight scene near the end of the movie where the main character; Frank Martin [played by Jason Staham] takes on an entire gang of thugs in a bus depot using a pair of bicycle pedals attached to his shoes and engine oil spilled on the floor! At one stage, he even uses a jumper as a lethal weapon, that's how hard the guy is! He makes Xander from xXx look like a pussycat...
Shu Qi was as beautiful and sexy as ever and I thought she did quite well bringing the role of Lai to life while the bad guys including Ric Young as Lai's father and Matt Schulze as the major league badass villain 'Wall Street' was especially cool and was totally ruthless...
I just hope they do a sequel as Frank Martin is just too cool not to be featured in a sequel movie even tho it's had mixed reviews in the UK but reviews can be ignored like 'Rules are meant to be broken' which is the tagline for the movie...
I also saw 'Chicago' on Saturday at my local cineplex [I swear they should give me a lifetime ticket considering the number of movies I've seen there! *L*] and it was pretty good; Catherine Zeta Jones and Renee Zellwegger being really good as Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart respectively while Richard Gere just oozed smarminess as Billy Flynn while the character I most felt sorry for was Amos Hart; Roxie's husband as he seemed to be a downtrodden soul who truly did love his wife even tho she treated him like dirt, just so she could be famous...
On Sunday, I mainly spent it sleeping and reading while on TV I watched the Flintstones live-action movie [I swear I was practically drooling over the appearance of Halle Berry as 'Sharon Stone' [not THAT Sharon Stone obviously! *L*] in her cavegirl outfit and I thought Kyle McLachlan was great as the villain...
BTW, I don't know if it's me but I seem to be dangerously addicted to online quizzes thanks to the likes of AJ and Archmyst doing them...
As for the rest of the week, I have classes as usual even tho I should have had a day off today because it was Reading Day at college and I did some business card-sized printouts of that 'Slam Dunk' quote that 'baby_gwing' quoted on her blog which I'm going to cut out and keep with one being sent to Ruby...
Talking of which, I spoke to her a couple of days ago and she was OK and but sounded a bit miserable when I spoke to her even tho she did thank me for wishing her a 'Happy New Year' in Tagalog which is the main dialect in the Phillipines [Her Dad's Filipino and her mother's Chinese] so I guess there may be some hope for me after all... ^_^
At college, I checked out the hotel where I've decided to stay in Singapore... It's called 'The M Hotel Singapore' and the rooms are totally amazing as the rooms incorporate all the latest technology including Plasma TV's, internet access, cordless phones, the works...
I definitely can't wait to hopefully visit Singapore at the end of the year especially as there's some electronic stuff I want to get there! ^_^
Anyway, I'd better end here before this becomes a 'War and Peace'-type epic! *L*
